Goal
|
Personal Goal: Personally, I knew there was plenty of scope for me to develop as an IB learner. Solution-brainstorming is an essential skill that is especially important to develop in today's world with numerous global issues at hand. I have always been interested in brainstorming of potential solutions and ways to mitigate issues. However, an area of concern was the feasibility of my solutions which would often be too unrealistic and frankly, because of this, would not help the issue at all. I believed that engaging with a specific issue like this one and researching about previous solutions, analyzing why they didn't work and evaluating the effectiveness of them, would help me learn more about possible solutions for other issues which are realistic and more likely to stimulate the change we all look forward to. |

Global Context: Fairness and Development
|
My project explored rights and fair treatment of individuals regardless of their economic background and I used my blog to call out injustices in existing systems. This correlated to the MYP Global Context ‘Fairness and Development’ which looks into rights and responsibilities as well as access to equal opportunities and treatment.
How did my project develop a sense of fairness and equality?
In my project, I created a blog which's purpose was to essentially inform readers about the systemic problems in domestic worker's working systems and how this essentially leads to discriminations against them. This was an issue which was not spoken about enough and required more awareness so that people could do something about it. This is the first step towards an egalitarian society. In today's day and age, online media helps catalyze the spread of these important knowledge and I understood the role it could play towards developing a fair and just system for workers coming from lower-socio economic backgrounds.
